Sustainable and resilient

food systems in France

and around the world

Let's Food

Vision
L'APPROCHE TERRITORIALE DE L'ALIMENTATION PACA(1).png

OUR OBJECTIVE

Ensure food security at the territorial level

The IPCC reports are clear: we must now adapt in order to continue to live together, preserve water and soil and be able to feed ourselves sustainably.

It is with this objective in mind that we have created the Let's Food association: to urge territories in France and around the world to be aware of the challenges of the 21st century and to ensure healthy, high-quality food for all, while preserving ecosystems, fauna and flora.

Solutions exist; they must be shared and spread to accelerate the transition within the territories and build their resilience towards the many challenges and terrible consequences of climate change.

TERRITORIAL FOOD POLICIES

We help local authorities in France and abroad to co-construct sustainable territorial food policies. From the diagnosis to the implementation of a new multi-actor governance, we work closely with local stakeholders to identify the social, economic and environmental challenges of each aspect of the food system and together define the solutions that need to be implemented.

SOCIAL SECURITY FOR FOOD

In the face of the right to food being not effective for all, growing food insecurity and crises in the current agricultural model, different territories are experimenting with models inspired by the Social Security for Food (SSF).

TERRITORIAL COOPERATION

In the coontext of the global climate emergency, territories must cooperate at all costs to ensure food security for all: we support local authorities by helping them develop international, cross-border or territorial cooperation projects in order to preserve good community relations, develop sustainable local food policies together and enrich each other.

TRAINING AND CAPACITY BUILDING

We offer training to elected officials and local authority employees so that they have the arguments and tools they need to implement sustainable food policies on their territory.

We also intervene in universities to train future professionals in local planning and engineering to better integrate food issues.

The training of elected officials, local government project managers but also stakeholders of the food system and the general public is a sine qua non condition for the co-construction of transversal local food policies whose ambitions can address the diversity and urgency of the issues. To do so, we are building autonomous, playful and locally adapted online training tools in MOOC format as well as guiding frameworks to be able to present and use it in an in-person workshop setting.

STUDIES AND PUBLICATIONS

Based on our different territorial experiences and identification of initiatives, we also produce comparative studies on specific topics in order to highlight good practices and successful experiences: school canteens, public policies for food resilience, fight against food insecurity among students, etc.

WHY LET'S FOOD

A territorial, systemic and multi-actor approach

Our interdisciplinary expertise has been built up over the years, in contact with territories and the local actors.
Local authorities are responsible for the wellbeing of their inhabitants and must set up transversal and efficient frameworks to facilitate dialogue and the integration of civil society actors in the definition of a new local, sustainable and inclusive food strategy.
